Causes of Acute Renal Failure

Causes of Acute Renal Failure auses of acute renal failure are many. These include the following categories:
Prerenal: This failure occurs when the problems affect the flow of blood before it reaches the kidneys.
Post renal: This occurs when the problems affect the urinary movement out of the kidneys.
Renal: This occurs when the kidney itself has a problem. This then affects the filtration of blood or urine production.

cause of kidney failure. This happens in sixty to seventy percent of all the cases. In this condition the kidneys fail to receive sufficient amount of blood. Thus the kidneys get lesser blood to filter. This prerenal failure is caused due to the following conditions:

  • Dehydration: When the individual suffers from vomiting, diarrhea, water pills or loss of blood then the individual heads for a prerenal failure if his system is prone to it.
  • Blood flow disruption: When the flow of blood to the kidneys is disrupted, then there is a renal failure. This disruption occurs due to various causes.
  • Blood pressure levels: When the blood pressure suddenly drops then the blood vessels relax suddenly. This blood pressure drop could arise after a surgery, severe injury or burns. Sometimes this sudden drop of blood pressure also occurs during sepsis. Sepsis is a condition when the bloodstream is infected.
  • Blockage: Sometimes the blood vessel carrying blood to the kidneys is blocked or gets constricted due to various reasons. At such times, the kidneys head for a pre renal failure.
  • Heart attacks: Heart attacks or heart failures are found to cause low blood flow. This results in a condition where the kidneys get ready to fail.
  • hough there is no specific damage to the kidneys in prerenal failure, yet the causes of acute renal failure are laid in this stage. With proper treatment, this possible cause of kidney failure can be reverted and treated. It is only when there is a prolonged time period wherein the blood flow is decreased that the permanent damage is caused to the tissues in the kidneys.http://www.biblehealth.com/acute-renal-failure/causes-of-acute-renal-failure.html
