Alzheimer Disease Statistics

Alzheimer Disease Statistics observed that the African-American Hispanics stand a greater chance of falling victim to Alzheimer’s disease. They develop the disease more than the whites, the Hispanics developing it 1.5 times more than the whites. This is attributed to the fact that the conditions prevailing in these communities make them more susceptible to this disease. Conditions like high pressure, diabetes etc that are found here are found to be responsible for this disease.
  • The Alzheimer mortality rate is rising. The Alzheimer deaths have been steadily increasing and the other causes of death are decreasing. There have been a lot of investments in the other diseases and so the deaths related to those have declined.
  • It is a fact that unless there is a cure for the disease or the disease is prevented, the number of Alzheimer American deaths would be around more than 16 million by 2050.
  • Research has it that more than 3 lakh Texans have this disease.
  • The cost of maintaining an Alzheimer’s disease patient is very high and the person has to be really financially stable to be able to treat it. This cost includes the direct and the indirect cost.
  • Alzheimer’s currently is indicative of sixty three percent of the deaths related to memory loss or dementia. This is going to increase as the generation advances.
