Age related macular degeneration may be classified into two major types, the dry and the wet age related macular degeneration. In the case of dry condition, it is noted that the eye tends to lose its compose and tends to become drier with a concentration of proteins and age which might act as the deciding factor due to which the disease tends to set in. The disease causes rapid disintegration of the eye. In the case of wet age related macular degeneration, the main cause for the onset of the disease is due to the concentration of increased amount of blood vessels that might be lining the retina.
